Marchant’s Field and Durley Field

Marchant’s and Durley Fields are located next to the Gorringe Road sites, just behind St Thomas a Beckett School.  The sites are accessed through the gate off Tutt’s Barn Lane.  Marchant’s Field is first.  Follow the main site road up to the car park to Durley Field.  There are 180 plots in total.  The site boasts sweeping views over fields and marshland.

Facilities

There are two toilets on site.  The first is located just inside the main gate at Marchant’s Field.  The second can be found along the main site road, opposite the Durley Field car park.

A defibrillator can be found outside the office in Gorringe Road.  This is for public use and will talk you through step by step.

Soil type

Much of the surrounding low-lying area is farmland and marshland.  The soil parent material is alluvium: clay, silts, sand and gravel, with a soil texture of peaty clay.  Although most of this site fairly free draining as it is situated on a slope, this does cause some lower areas of the site to become waterlogged in very wet winters.

Parking

There are car parks situated around the site.  Do not park on the site roadways.  Please be considerate to other site users when loading/unloading outside of your plot.

DANGER – Please be aware that there are drainage ditches running alongside the site.  Children must be monitored at all times.
