Where to sow
Sow February to April.  Sow seeds on the surface of a free-draining compost and lightly cover with about 5mm of compost or vermiculite.  Tomatoes need a temperature of 18-21c to germinate.

What next
Once they are big enough to handle, prick out into pots and grow on until they're about 10cm tall when they can be transplanted to their final growing place.  Can be grown under glass, in a polytunnel, or in a warm, sheltered spot.

Top tip
Marglobe is an indeterminate variety which means they grow fruit all along the stem throughout the season and require staking.
Red Cherry is also indeterminate but is a bush variety so perfect for growing on a patio.
