What to do in FEBRUARY

Although it still feels like the depths of Winter, days are slowly starting to lengthen and with snowdrops peeping, through things are looking up.

​

• chit potatoes in readiness for planting

• sow tomatoes in a heated propagator to get an early start

• sow peas under cover for an early crop.  Why not try them in guttering and sliding them into the prepared ground once they're ready to plant out.

• remove yellow leaves from over wintering brassicas to prevent mildew and mould

• prune wisteria
