Where to sow
Sow February to April. Sow seeds on the surface of a free-draining compost and lightly cover with a sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Peppers need a temperature of 18-21c to germinate.
What next
Once they are big enough to handle, prick out into pots and grow on until they're about 10cm tall when they can be transplanted to their final growing place. Best grown under glass, in a polytunnel, or in a warm, sheltered spot.
Top tip
They can be eaten green or leave them on the plant until they turn red.
